ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford, Castle St - Norfolk St - Speedwell St Temporary One-Way Traffic Date of Order: 3 January 2017 Coming into force: 9 January 2017 This Order is being introduced because of gas mains installation and associated section 278 works which are anticipated to take 12 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily introduce one-way traffic only from the Thames Street/Speedwell Street junction westwards into Norfolk Street and northwards in Castle Street with traffic proceeding in that direction to New Road.

This Order is being introduced because of gas mains installation and associated section 278 works which are anticipated to take 12 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily introduce one-way traffic only from the Thames Street/Speedwell Street junction westwards into Norfolk Street and northwards in Castle Street with traffic proceeding in that direction to New Road.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included emergency services vehicles.

The alternative route for permitted vehicles is via New Road, Park End Street, Hollybush Row, Oxpens and Thames Street. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
