TemporaryClosure of Footpath Nol25Weymouth

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Sectionl4[l] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act1984, asamended. All pedestrians will be prohibitedfrom proceeding along the Footpath No125 Weymouth, from grid reference SY 6754 7764 to grid referenceSY6757 7765, adistance of approximately 20 metres, andfrom SY 6784 7780 to grid referenceSY68157780adistance of approximately 66 metres. TheOrder is needed in order to minimise the likelihood of danger to HighwayUsers. It will come intooperation on the30November 2016 to 29 November 2017, aperiod of 52 weeks. Butitwill remain in forcefor 12 monthsand canbe, extended,withthe approval ofthe Secretary of Statefor Transport, if necessary.

This Order is required forHeath andSafetyreasons due to damage to thefootpath at theabove locations andbecause thefootpath unstable.Repairscan notbecarried outuntil suchtime as theareaisinasafecondition.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Thealternative routeisasfollows;from thewestern endofthe closure at grid reference SY 6750 7764turnright andproceed northeast-ward along Old Castle Road to the junction with Belle VueRoad. Turn right andcontinue northeast-wardalongBelle VueRoadtoRedcliffe View. Turn rightintoRedcliffe View andproceed south-eastward to rejoin the footpathbythe Coast Guard lookout theeastern end of theclosureat grid referenceSY6813 7803. The reverserouteapplies. It should be notedthe Footpath No125Weymouth between grid reference SY 6757 7765 andgridreference SY 6784 7780 has apermanent closureinforce since 2001due to unstable ground.

TemporaryClosure of Maiden CastleRoad, Dorchester

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than sevendaysfromthe date of this notice to make an Order underSection 14 [1]ofthe Road Traffic Regulations Act1984, as amended.All vehicleswill be prohibited from proceeding alongMaiden CastleRoad, Dorchester from itsjunctionwithClarenceRoadtooutsidePrinceof WalesSchool,a distance of approximately 740 metres. Theorder is needed in order to comply withHealthand Safety Regulations whichrequire theprovisionofsafe working areasand to minimisethe likelihoodofdangertoHighway Users. It will come into operationon15thDecember 2016 andwill remain in forcefor 18 months However it is anticipated that theworks will be completed by 23rd December 2016. Please notethatthe workinghoursvary; 15th &16thDecemberbetween thehoursof09:30and14:30 andfrom 19th December untilthe 21stDecember betweenthe hoursof09:00 and16:00 daily.

The road will be open outsideofthese timesand alsooverthe weekend. Please note that thedates areawindowofopportunityand theroadmay not be closed forthe whole duration stated above.The closureisalsoweather dependant. Even though thedates abovecoincideonlyone road will be closed at anyone time.But it will remain in forcefor 18 monthsand canbeextended withthe approvalofthe Secretary of Statefor Transport if necessary.

This order will enable Dorset CountyCouncil to carryout carriageway

maintenance.

Alocally signeddiversionroute will be putinplace to enable traffic to travel around theclosedsections.
