Stobart Energy
is the number one supplier of biomass in the UK, producing renewable energy and supporting a low-carbon economy. Stobart Energy have made an application to the Environment Agency (EA) to operate a waste wood processing plant to provide fuel for the Widnes Biomass Plant. The permit has been duly made by the EA and should be issued during the early stages of 2017. The Widnes Biomass Plant will provide enough renewable electricity to power more than 35,000 homes each year and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.3 million tonnes (which is equivalent to 30,000 cars off the road). The project will also create 200 construction jobs and over 100 full-time jobs post-construction. As an interim stage and to aid in the commissioning of the Biomass Plant, the company has been given permission to operate their processing plant at a limited capacity to store and process waste wood into a fuel product. Information relating to the Environment Agency application can be viewed at the Environment Agency's, Warrington Office, or can be provided via direct contact with Stobart Biomass Products Ltd Widnes Offices. If you have any questions regarding the processes at Widnes please use the contact details below and someone from the waste wood processing team will be in touch: Stobart Biomass Products Ltd Foundry Lane, Widnes.
