NOTICE OF VALID PETITION
A Petition to Change the Council's Constitutional Arrangements Notice is hereby given pursuant to Regulation 13(2) of The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011 that: (a) a valid petition has been received by the council; (b) the constitutional change sought by the petition is that the council should be run in a different way by a mayor who is elected by voters for the area which the council serves. (c) the petition was dated 7 November 2016; (d) the petition is available at the council’s principal office for inspection by members of the public at all reasonable times and free of charge; (e) the council’s principal office is Burnley Town Hall, Manchester Road, Burnley BB11 9SA; and (f) a referendum will be held on 4 May 2017.
