CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 17th day of November 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to makeanOrderunderSection 14(1)oftheActinrespectofeachofthelocationsnumbered (5), (6) and (7).
(1) PARAGON STREET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the east bound traffic lane of Paragon Street, York between the western property boundary of No. 1 Fawcett Street and the eastern property boundary of City House, Fawcett Street (closed traffic lane) during the period when water work being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2000hrs on the19th dayofNovember2016and endingat1000hrson the20th dayofNovember2016 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) THE MOUNT, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north east bound bus lane and adjacent parking area of The Mount, York between its junctions with Dalton Terrace and Scarcroft Road (closed bus lane) during the period when footwayreconstruction works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 20th day of November 2016 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) TUDOR ROAD & KINGSWAY WEST, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Tudor Road, York between its junctions with Green Lane Roundabout and Stuart Road and (ii) Kingsway West, York between its junction with Green Lane Roundabout and a point 30 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during the period when road safety improvement works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1500hrs on the 24th day of November 2016 or at a time when the works have been completedwhicheveristheearlier. Thisistoensurethatthesaidworkscanbecarried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) LAWRENCE STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Lawrence Street, York between its junctions with Farrar Street and Lansdowne Terrace (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1000hrs on the 20th day of November 2016 (works period) or at a time when nearby building works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to effect for a 15 minute period during the works period. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and endingat1430hrson the29th dayofNovember 2016(worksperiod)or attimewhen track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa.
(6) A1237, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the lay-by on the south sideoftheA1237 between points425 metresand 537 metresnorth eastoftheroundabout controlled junction of A1237 and Clifton Moorgate (closed lay-by) during the period commencing at0930hrs and ending at1530hrs on the30th dayofNovember 2016(work period) or at time when tree felling works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions.
(7) HOWDEN LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Howden Lane, York between its junctions with A19 and B1222 (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrsand endingat1500hrson the8th dayofDecember 2016(workperiod)or attime when tree felling works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
