ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (BEARWOOD ROAD, BARKHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2016
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the 17th October 2016 Wokingham Borough Council made an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle to proceed along Bearwood Road, Barkham between its junctions with B3349 Barkham Road and The Lilacs.
The reason for this prohibition is to enable BT Openreach contractors to undertake repair works to over a cover and frame in safety.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via B3349 Barkham Road, Langley Common Road, A327 Eversley Road, B3030 Sindlesham Road, B3030 Mole Road and Bearwood Road (southern section), or by this route in reverse.
The restrictions will only be in effect whilst the necessary traffic signs are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained at all times.
The Order will come into operation on the 24th October 2016 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months on until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is however anticipated that works requiring this restriction shall be completed by 25th October 2016.
