PLANNING PROPOSAL AT QUAKERS WALK, DEVIZES

The public and any interested party are invited to attend an exhibition relating to a proposal for a Care Village on land off Quakers Walk, Devizes.

The event will be held in the Cheese Hall at the Town Hall, St Johns Street, Devizes SN10 1BN on Tuesday 21st June 2011 between 4.00pm and 8.00pm

The site is owned by the St Monica Trust and managed by the Society of Merchant Venturers as their Trustees. The St Monica Trust is a Bristol based charity which provides care and support for older and disabled people.

The proposed Care Village will provide a comprehensive range of housing and care needs for those in later life. The scheme would be home to a wide range of residents, enabling them to retain independence for longer in an attractive and safe environment. The proposals include 129 extra care apartments and an 80-bed care home with specialist accommodation for people with dementia.

People who are interested are invited to call in at any time between the hours above to view the plans and discuss any aspect of the proposal with representatives from the Society and their agents.

There will also be opportunity to ask questions and leave written comments should you wish to do so. In due course, a planning application will be made to Wiltshire Council when you will have a further chance to comment on the proposals.
