AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2010-11
(financial year ending 31st March 2011)
NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Sections 15 and 16 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and Regulations 13, 14 and 16 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003:
1) For a period of 20 full working days commencing on 4th August 2011, any person interested may inspect, at the offices of Wiltshire Police Authority, Golden House, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2RD, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm (Monday to Friday), the WPA accounts to be audited for the financial year 2010-2011 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto, and may make copies of all or any part of the accounts and the said other documents.
Those wishing to inspect the WPA accounts to be audited for the financial year 2010-2011 or other documentation relating thereto may not inspect so much of any accounts or other documentation that contains personal information within the meaning of Sub-Section 15(3A) and 15(4) of the Audit Commission Act 1998, nor are they entitled to require any such information to be disclosed in answer to any question.
2) On or after 5th September 2011, at 10.00am at the offices of Wiltshire Police Authority, Golden House, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2RD, the District Auditor, Martin Robinson of Audit Commission, Units 3-4, Blenheim Court, Matford Business Park, Lustleigh Close, Exeter, EX2 8PW, shall, at the request of any local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate, give the elector, or any representative of his, an opportunity to question the District Auditor about or make objections to the said accounts.
3) On or after 5th September 2011, any local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate, or any representative of his, may attend before the District Auditor and make objections as to: i)any item of account which is contrary to law; ii)any matter in respect of which it is in the public interest that the District Auditor should make a report.
4) No objection may be made under (3) above unless the District Auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and of the grounds on which it is to be made. A copy of such written notice shall be sent to the Chief Executive of the Wiltshire Police Authority (at the address below) at the same time.
