BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS & TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT & RIGHT TURNS IN EASTLEIGH
By arrangements made under section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with
Hampshire County Council notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order to allow for the Eastleigh 10K Road Race, the effects of which are detailed
below:
Temporary road closures: (pedestrian access to these roads will not be affected)
Passfield Avenue (for its entire length).
Woodside Avenue (for its entire length).
A335 Leigh Road (eastbound lane across
Passfield Avenue/Woodside Avenue jct closed).
A335 Leigh Road (between its junctions with Passfield Avenue and Nutbeem Road)
Shakespeare Road (for its entire length).
A335 Twyford Road (northbound lane, for its entire length).
Kipling Road (for its entire length).
Derby Road (for its entire length).
Desborough Road (between Passfield Avenue & Chestnut Avenue).
Chestnut Avenue (eastbound lane between Stoneham Lane & Southampton Road).
Dew Lane (for its entire length).
Nightingale Avenue (between Magpie Lane & Passfield Avenue).
Turning restrictions:
Woodside Avenue (Prohibition of left turn into A335 Leigh Road).
Woodside Avenue (Prohibition of right turn into Shakespeare Road.
Launceston Drive, Bosville, Allbrook Knoll, Broadlands Avenue, Shakespeare Road, Chestwood View (Prohibition of right turns into Woodside Avenue).
Monks Brook Close, Monks Way – east and west arms, Cheriton Road, Mansbridge Road, Arnold Road (Prohibition of right turns into Chestnut Avenue).
Alternative Route (eastbound into Eastleigh): Woodside Avenue (northbound) A335 Twyford Road (southbound). Alternative Route (westbound from Eastleigh): A335 Southampton Road &
Wide Lane (southbound), Stoneham Lane, Chestnut Avenue.
Period of Closure: The restrictions will be in place from approximately 9.30am until 12.00pm on
Sunday 25 March 2012.
A copy of the Order together with plans showing the roads to which the Order relates may be inspected at my office at the Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh, during normal office hours.
