Network Rail has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Port Meadow Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The proposed works are: raising the support slopes by 0.5m over the length of the ramp approx. 92 metres. A new side span to be attached to the approach for creation of a private access for Trap Ground Allotment users.
The works will be located on the western approach ramp to Aristotle Lane Bridge, Oxford.
A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at the Town Hall, St Aldates, Oxford during normal office hours until Monday 9 May 2016. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents may be obtained by writing to the address provided below.
Any representations should be sent in writing ON or BEFORE that date to the Planning Inspectorate at Room 3/25B, Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN or commonlandcasework@pins.gsi.gov.uk. Representations sent to the Planning Inspectorate cannot be treated as confidential. They will be copied to the applicant and possibly to other interested parties.
