LEWES DISTRICT COUNCIL FIXING OF FARES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGES Section 65 Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976
NOTICE is hereby given that Lewes District Council has made the following Table of Fares.
The fares applying to all hiring within Lewes District area. Journeys ending outside the Lewes area may not exceed the authorised metered fare unless a prior contract is made with the driver at the time of hiring.
£2.80 For the first 805 metres (approx 880 yards) or the first 6
minutes (or a combination of distance & time) or part thereof.
20p For each subsequent 161 metres (approx 176 yards) or 45 seconds (or a combination of distance & time) or part thereof to a distance of 3.2 kilometres (2 mile) and thereafter.
20p Waiting time every 45 seconds.
EXTRA CHARGES
Only one of the below extra charges may be applied at any time.
LATE NIGHT Between the hours of 00.01 am and 6 am £1.60


SUNDAYS Between the hours of 6 am and 12 midnight 80p


BANK OR To 6am on the following day, excluding times £1.60


PUBLIC HOLIDAY covered by Christmas and New Year

CHRISTMAS PERIOD Between 8pm 24th December and 6am 27th 100% of


& NEW YEAR'S EVE December and between 8pm 31st December the normal


and 00.01am 2nd January daytime fare

FOULING CHARGE
Plus 50% of normal fare £100
Any objections to the Table of Fares must be made in writing to the Director of
Planning and Environmental Services, Southover House, Southover Road, Lewes,
BN7 1AB before 26 October 2012.
A copy of this Notice can be inspected at the Council's offices at the above address between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday - Friday.
If no objections to the Table of Fares are received, or if those objections are withdrawn, the Table of Fares shall come into operation on 29th October 2012 or on
the date when the last objection is withdrawn, whichever is later.
Any objections that are not withdrawn will be considered by the Council at a further Meeting on 20 November 2012.
