Report of Local Government Ombudsman on complaint of injustice
The Local Government Ombudsman has issued a report following her investigation of a complaint against Isle of Wight Council. The complaint was about a planning and development matter. The Ombudsman found that injustice had been caused by maladministration on the part of Isle of Wight Council. Isle of Wight Council has agreed to take action which the Ombudsman regards as providing a satisfactory remedy for the complaint.
Copies of the report will be available for public inspection during normal office hours at County Hall Newport and on our website at www.iwight.com/lgo_report for three weeks starting on Friday 21 December 2012.
Anyone is entitled to take copies of the report or extracts from it. Copies will be supplied at a reasonable charge.
Because injustice was found, the Isle of Wight Council must now consider the report.
