The Educational Alliance of Canford Heath Statutory Notice
This is a proposal to form a partnership of schools by acquiring a charitable trust named The Educational Alliance of Canford Heath. The schools in the partnership will be Ad Astra First School, Canford Heath First School, Canford Heath Middle School, and Haymoor Middle School.

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that:
the Governing Body of Ad Astra First School intends to make a prescribed alteration to Ad Astra First School which is a community school located at Sherborn Crescent, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset, BH17 8AP, the Governing Body of Canford Heath First School intends to make a prescribed alteration to Canford Heath First School which is a community school located at Learoyd Road, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset, BH17 8PJ, the Governing Body of Canford Heath Middle School intends to make a prescribed alteration to Canford Heath Middle School which is a community school located at Learoyd Road, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset, BH17 8PJ, the Governing Body of Haymoor Middle School, intends to make a prescribed alteration to Haymoor Middle School, which is a community school located at Ashdown Close, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset, BH17 8WG.

The proposed alteration in each case is to change school category from Community to Foundation and together with one or more of the proposed partners to acquire a trust established otherwise than under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

The proposed name of the foundation will be The Educational Alliance of Canford Heath and the proposed implementation date is 1st March 2013. The Trust does not already act as a foundation for any foundation or voluntary school.

The proposed members of the trust are:
? Poole SCITT (Poole School Centred Initial Teacher Training) (1 Trustee)

? The Borough of Poole (1 Trustee)

? The Co-operative Movement, initially represented by the Co-operative College (1 Trustee)

? Ad Astra First School (2 Trustees)

? Canford Heath First School (2 Trustees)

? Canford Heath Middle School (2 Trustees)

? Haymoor Middle School (2 Trustees)

In addition, learners at each of the schools, parents, staff, members of the local community and local community organisations will be able to become members of the Trust. The Trust will have a Stakeholder Forum composed of members, which will be able to appoint some of the Trust's trustees. As the Trust develops, it will welcome other schools joining.
The rationale for acquiring the Trust, the contribution it will make, and the direction it will provide to the schools can be summarised as follows:
The four named schools have long worked together for mutual benefit, and aim to continue this work. Working together has helped the schools to develop a common set of aims and values.

Becoming a shared Trust will help us to clarify our vision and aims, continue to raise expectations and standards across the partnership, and make our existing collaboration more sustainable. We believe that to meet the needs of the community we need to work together as a community. As a group of schools we know that we can achieve more by working together than we can by working alone. A shared Trust would help to make that belief a reality.
The core objective of the Trust will be to increase the enjoyment and achievement of all stakeholders by working with a variety of innovative educational partners from the community and beyond and to assist in further raising achievement and outcomes by:
? Maintaining and improving the quality of teaching and learning

? Promoting high aspirations amongst children, parents, carers and all those working with young people

? Harnessing resources efficiently to enhance learning

? Engaging the expertise, views and commitment of stakeholders

? Creating the right conditions for effective learning
