Invite to attend Public Consultation Day Redevelopment of Maidment Court, Poole

Methodist Homes (MHA) is holding a Public Consultation Day to invite comment on its proposals for the redevelopment of its existing Care Home, Maidment Court located on 47 Parkstone Road.
The proposed redevelopment is to be undertaken in two phases since the existing Care Home is to retain fully operational until phase one is complete thus enabling the transfer of existing residents and staff into the new facilities. The redevelopment will continue to provide for older people and will also have a wide range of social, health and well-being facilities. Properties in phase two will be available for rent, shared ownership and outright purchase. The idea is to create a community where older people can live independent, full and active lives. Care is available as required to people within their own homes. The concept has been described by the Department of Health as "an all-embracing, comprehensive alternative to both sheltered housing and residential care, providing for a whole range of needs and individual circumstances".
Draft plans have now been prepared to illustrate the development and a planning application will shortly be submitted to the Borough of Poole Council for approval.
