THE MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009 AND THE MARINE WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 (as amended) APPLICATION FOR A MARINE LICENCE
Notice is hereby given that Hanson Aggregates Marine Ltd, (Burnley Wharf, Marine Parade, Southampton, SO14 5JF) and Tarmac Marine Dredging Ltd (UMA House, Shopwhyke Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 2AD) are jointly applying to the Marine Management Organisation to undertake a regulated activity under Part 4 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The application is for a marine licence to dredge marine aggregate from Area 127, West of Isle of Wight. The applicants propose to extract a total of 9.75 million tonnes (3.75 million tonnes by Hanson Aggregates Marine Ltd and 6 million tonnes by Tarmac Marine Dredging Ltd) over a period of 15 years, with a maximum total single year extraction of 1.3 million tonnes (0.5 million tonnes by Hanson Aggregates Marine Ltd and 0.8 million tonnes by Tarmac Marine Dredging Ltd). Area 127 is located approximately 14 km west of the Isle of Wight and covers an area of seabed of approximately 10.99 km2. The limits of the extraction area are defined by the following co-ordinates. (WGS84 degrees decimal minutes).

The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
