PROTECTION OF BADGERS ACT 1992 - TB CONTROL LICENCE APPLICATION

Protection of Badgers Act 1992 - TB control Licence Application. Notification of an application for a licence to cull badgers for the purpose of preventing the spread of bovine TB under section 10(2)(a) of the Protection of Badgers Act 1992.
Notice is hereby given that FRU Serv Ltd have applied to Natural England (NE) for a licence to cull badgers within an area of approx. 238km2 located in the county of Dorset. Anyone may submit, to NE, any relevant information that they consider NE should be aware of when determining this application. Any such submissions should be made by completing the relevant survey on the NE website at http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/regulation/wildlife/species/badgertb.aspx, or in writing to NE at BTB@naturalengland.org.uk or by post to - Natural England, BM 6283, London WC1N 3XX by 5 June 2013. Where possible, respondents should provide specific details of how the proposed activity will affect them or their interests. This Notice is inviting views and comments on the potential impacts of a licence in the specific area proposed; it is not seeking comments on the Government's overall policy on TB and badger control, a public consultation on which has previously been held (see http://www.defra.gov.uk/animal-diseases/a-z/bovine-tb/publications/ ). A summary of NE decisions on applications to prevent the spread of bovine TB will be published on NE web site (http://www.naturalengland.org.uk).
