St Pauls Road, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAG EN HAM
(ST PAULS ROAD, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2021 NOTICE OF EXTENSION

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate Gascoigne East Phase 2 Construction works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has extended a Temporary Order made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order came in to effect on Monday 15 February 2021 for a period of 18 months to Sunday 14 August 2022 and was extended for a period not exceeding 6 months to Tuesday 14 February 2023 and has been extended for a further period not exceeding 6 months to allow completion of the works, which is expected by Monday 14 August 2023 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. The Order will remain in force for a further 6 months from 15 February 2023, to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed Article 3 of the Order temporarily:

* Prohibits all vehicular traffic in the southern lane on St Pauls Road, south side, from a point 99 metres north-east of its junction with Cooke Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 27.5 metres.

* Nothing in Article 3 of the Order shall apply to:

* Any vehicle being used, in connection with the said works;
* Any vehicle being used, by a statutory undertaker in an emergency where it is necessary by reason of emergency for that vehicle to have access to the prohibited length of road at a time when the prohibition applies;
* Any vehicle being used, for police, fire or ambulance purposes; or
* Anything done with the permission or under the direction of a police constable in uniform.

4. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed Article 4 of the Order temporarily:

* Prohibits all pedestrians on St Pauls Road, south side footpath, from a point 84.5 metres north-east of its junction with Cooke Street in an easterly direction to a point 10 metres west of the pedestrian crossing.

* Nothing in Article 4 of the Order shall apply to: o Any person in connection with the said works;

* Any person working for police, fire or ambulance purposes; or o Anything done with the permission or under the direction of a police constable in uniform.

5. Alternative routes for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:

* Via A123 (Ripple Road) west side footpath, Axe Street north side footpath, St Pauls Road west and north side footpath, St Pauls Road south side footpath and Vice Versa.
