The County Council of Durham (Lindisfarne Road and Canterbury Road, Newton Hall) (Temporary Road Closure and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2023
The Council on 20/1 /23 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic, except for access by residents, from proceeding on a 650 metre length of Lindisfarne Road that extends south/south-westerly from its junction with Canterbury Road, Newton Hall. It will also necessary to prohibit vehicular traffic from waiting between these times on; a) Canterbury Road, eastern side between its junctions with Finchale Road and Lindisfarne Road b) Lindisfarne Road, eastern and south eastern side between its junctions with Canterbury Road and Cotherstone Road to enable rail track renewal works to be undertaken.
Alternative route from the north eastern side of the closure from Canterbury Road easterly to the junction with Featherstone Road leading to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 28/1 /23 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 days over 3 weeks, 28/1 /23 from 12.00 to 20.00, 20.00 on the 3/2/23 to 8.00 on 4/2/23 and 20.00 on 11/2/23 to 06.00 on 12/2/23. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
