Notice of application for a full licence to abstract
(take) water

Essex County Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction
and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Piggeries Lake at Castle Lane, Benfleet, Essex at National Grid Reference TQ 80351 86685.

The application is to abstract water as follows:
• 30 cubic metres an hour • 240 cubic metres a day
• 20,000 cubic metres a year • 8.33 litres per second
• between March and October inclusive in each year.
Water will be used to top-up a reservoir.
