York, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 19th day of January 2023 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) & (5).

Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (6).

(1) SKELDERGATE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Skeldergate, York between its junctions with Micklegate & Fetter Lane (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 23 January 2023 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 10 February 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(2) THE SHAMBLES & PAVEMENT. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Shambles, York between its junction with Pavement and the projected southern boundary of property No 28 (closed road) during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Monday, 23 January 2023 and ending at 0600hrs on Thursday, 02 February 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, all vehicles & pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding and waiting in that length of the footway on the northern side of Pavement between its junctions with Parliament Street and The Shambles (closed footway). An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

(3) FRONT STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Front Street, York between its junctions with York Road and Green Lane (closed road) during the period when footway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1030hrs on Saturday, 21 January 2023 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 21 April 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1030hrs and 1600 hrs each day.

(4) THE PADDOCKS. WHELDRAKE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Paddocks, Wheldrake from its junction with Hall Close onwards (closed road) during the period when water mains supply works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 25 January 2023 and ending at 1800hrs on Thursday, 26 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1800hrs each day.

(5) KING STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on King Street, York between its junction with Clifford Street and a location 35 metres south west of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Thursday, 26 January 2023 and ending at 1530hrs on Thursday, 26 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in King's Staith and King Street are suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(6) MURRAY STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Murray Street, York between the projected southern boundaries of property No's 32 & 42 (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0730hrs on Wednesday, 01 February 2023 and ending at 1930hrs on Thursday, 02 February 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0730hrs and 1930hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
