THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1017 NEAR WREAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Rail to carry out bridge examination works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the C1017 Near Wreay, from a point adjacent to the Railway Bridge (Birthwaite RLY No.221), extending in a north easterly direction for approx 250m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of C1017 and the C1041 Wreay.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 22 January 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0800 and 1600 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
