The County Council of Durham (Unclassified 13.12 Forge Lane, Chester-le-Street) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 487 metres of Unclassified 13.12 Forge Lane, Chester-le-Street between its junctions with the road adjacent to the Smith Arms Public House and northwards to the road leading to The Manor House, Lumley Dene, Chester-le-Street to enable National Highways bridge maintenance works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the southern side of the closure easterly along the B1284 towards Houghton-le-Spring then onto A1052 leading north westerly to Houghton Gate to the northern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 6/2/23 from 8am and are anticipated to be completed in 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
