The Hertfordshire (York Crescent, York Way And Rowley Lane, Borehamwood) (Restriction Of Waiting) (Experimental) Order 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council, for the purpose of carrying out an experimental scheme of traffic control, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to introduce experimental waiting restrictions in part of Borehamwood.

The purpose of the Order will be to trial new waiting restrictions covering parts of York Crescent, York Way and Rowley Lane, Borehamwood as set out within the Order, the effect of which will introduce:
No Waiting at anytime restrictions in parts of York Crescent (between Rowley Lane and Elstree Way), York Way (at its junction with York Crescent) and Rowley Lane (between Studio Way and the new Sky Studios), Borehamwood as set out in the Order.

The purpose of the trial is to evaluate the effect on the introduction of such waiting restrictions on those roads. The Order which comes into effect on 26 January 2023, will remain in effect for a period of up to 18 months. Hertfordshire County Council will monitor the effects of the experimental restrictions and may amend the experimental provisions, if considered necessary. The Hertfordshire County Council will be considering in due course whether the experimental provisions of this Order should be continued in force indefinitely.

Objections to the provisions of this Order being continued in force indefinitely should be made in writing to Terry Curtis, Postal Point (CHO242), First Floor, East Link Corridor, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, Herts, SG13 8DN or

by 26 July 2023 stating the grounds on which they are made. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.

The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council. Any personal data you provide in responding to these Notices will be treated as confidential but will be shared with HCC Officers; County Councillors and contracted third parties who are involved in the statutory process. We will not share identifiable data with third parties outside of the statutory process.
