Enfield Various Roads -Temporary Restriction Of Traffic

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate essential utility works, the Council of the London Borough of Enfield intend to make the Enfield (Various Roads) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic) Order 2023 under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

1. The effect of the Order will be to:

(a) revoke the Enfield (Plevna Road St, Martins Road and Monmouth Road N9) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic) Order 2022 that came into operation on 3 January 2023;

(b) suspend the two-way traffic flow system on Plevna Road, St Martin's Road and Monmouth Road, between its junctions with Hertford Road and St Martin's Road, and replace it with a temporary one-way system from Hertford Road towards Fore Street;

(c) introduce banned turn and No Entry restrictions on roads and service roads adjoining the temporary one-way system to facilitate the safe movement of traffic;

(d) extend no waiting and no loading restrictions in sections of the affected roads to 'At any time';

(e) extend the 20mph speed limit restriction currently operating in Monmouth Road to its junction with Hertford Road.

2. A diversion for traffic will be in place via Fore Street, The Broadway, The Green and Hertford Road.

3. The Order would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

4. The Order would come into operation on Monday, 6th February 2023 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

Works would be expected to commence on Monday, 6th February 2023 and last for 6 months. The dates specified are for guidance and informative purposes only and works may extend outside these dates. Dated 18 January 2023
