Somerset County Council District of Sedgemoor Parish of Bridgwater Temporary Closure of Broadway, Monmouth Street and St Johns Street

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Broadway Northbound - from the junction with Salmon Parade, northwards for a total of 267 metres; Broadway Southbound - from the junction with St Johns Street, southwards for a distance of 263 metres; Monmouth Street Northbound - from the junction with Eastover, northwards for a distance of 305 metres; Monmouth Street Southbound - from the junction with the Cross Rifles Roundabout, southwards, for a distance of 301 metres; and St Johns Street - from the junction with Broadway eastwards, for a distance of 165 metres. A total distance of 1266 metres. This Order will enable SCC to carry out phased works for traffic light refurbishment and resurfacing. The Order becomes effective on 31st January 2023 and will remain in force for eighteen months.
