ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.* 202* (TRO-37-2022)

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ("the Council") proposes to make the Order named above under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which if it comes into force will introduce various changes as detailed below:
Zone C
Sutherland Road - Removes the redundant School Keep Clear and replaces it with shared (permit and paid) long term parking (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 11 hours).
Zone N
Kings Esplanade- (West) - Introduces a loading bay (at any time) in Kings Esplanade (West) south side and shortens the length of the proposed disabled bays from TRO-25a-2022. Kingsway - Changes sections of permit holders only parking into shared permit and paid parking (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 2 hours no return 4 hours) between St Aubyns and Seafield Road, Seafield Road and Osborne Villas, Osborne Villas and Medina Villas. Shortens bus stop and loading bay (30 minutes no return within 1 hour) between Vallance Gardens and St Aubyns and changes the permit parking to shared permit and paid (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 2 hours no return within 4 hours) and increases the length of the parking bay
Zone R
Kingsway - changes several sections of permit holders only parking into shared parking (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 11 hours) between Hove Street and Princes Crescent (Eastern Arm), Princes Crescent (Western Arm) and Westbourne Villas, Westbourne Villas and Sackville Gardens, Carlisle Road and Walsingham Road.
School Road - Introduces new shared (permit and paid) short term parking (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 2 hours no return within 4 hours).
Zone V
Hanover Street - Introduces a disabled bay at any time and amends the existing permit holders parking to accommodate new disabled bay.
Zone W
Kingsway - changes sections of permit holders only parking into exclusive paid parking (Monday to Sunday 9am to 8pm 11 hours) between Wish Road and Welbeck Avenue and Welbeck Avenue to Berriedale Avenue.
Zone Y
Bath Street and Clifton Street- relocation of disabled bays and amends the existing permit holders parking.
Zone Z
Black Lion Street - Introduces a no loading at any time on parts of the road where loading causes an obstruction to both traffic and pedestrians. A copy of this Notice, the proposed Order, plans showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be seen online at

All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to the Executive Director Economy, Environment & Culture, Brighton & Hove City Council, c/o Parking Design & Implementation, Room G40, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road Hove, BN3 3BQ quoting the TRO reference number shown above or by e-mail to
