NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Nangreaves Street, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Nangreaves Street, Leigh during the period of three days commencing on 14/03/2023. Please note there is no alternative route available for traffic. The Order is necessary for a new water connection.

(Glastonbury Avenue, Lowton, WA3 1ET) -(Temporary Closure) Order 2023 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Glastonbury Avenue, Lowton, WA3 1ET) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Glastonbury Avenue, Lowton, WA3 1ET during the period of 09:30-15:00 commencing on 15/02/2023. Please note there is no alternative route for traffic available. The Order is necessary to allow frame and cover replacement.

Gas Street, Leigh - Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading & Unloading Order 2023 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Gas Street, Leigh - Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading & Unloading) Order 2023

The effect of the Order will be to revoke loading bay at any time on:
* Gas Street, Leigh (North Side) from its junction with Albion Street to a point 30 metres east of its junction with Albion Street.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke disabled bay at any time on:
* Gas Street (amendment 49 - Op 22.07.11) (North Side) from a point 30 metres east of its junction with Albion Street to a point 36 metres east of its junction with Albion Street.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke a restriction of waiting on the following length of road between the times and on the days specified below:
* Gas Street, Leigh (South Side) from its junction with Albion Street to a point 114 metres west of its junction with Brown Street South on any day between 8.00am - 6.00pm.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a proposed prohibition of waiting at any time for a duration of 18 months, commencing on 03/02/2023:
* Gas Street, Leigh (South Side) from a point 114 metres west of its junction with Brown Street South to its junction with Albion Street.

* Gas Street, Leigh (North Side) from a point 36 metres east of its junction with Albion Street to its junction with Albion Street.

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight, for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers, for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes, if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral, to take on fuel, water or air at any garage, or the avoidance of an accident.

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a proposed prohibition of Loading & Unloading at any time for a duration of 18 months, commencing on 03/02/2023:

* Gas Street, Leigh (South Side) from a point 114 metres west of its junction with Brown Street South to its junction with Albion Street.

* Gas Street, Leigh (North Side) from a point 36 metres east of its junction with Albion Street to its junction with Albion Street.

Please note there is no alternative route available.
The Order is necessary as building works at the end of Gas Street near Albion Street narrows the adopted highway and displaces turning vehicles in from of the entrance to Leigh market.
