M25 Motorway - Junction 20 Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent traffic incursion into works being undertaken in the vicinity by contractors working on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council. The effect of the Order would be to:

1) authorise the overnight phased closure of all the slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at Junction 20 (A41); and

2) impose a mandatory 50mph speed restriction on:-

a) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point approximately 28 metres north of the centreline of Langleybury Fields overbridge and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at

Junction 20 (A41); and
b) the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point approximately 555 metres southwest of the centreline of Egg Farm Lane overbridge and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Junction 20 (A41)

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing and all associated works on the roundabout at M25 Junction 20 (A41).

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 weeks starting on or after Wednesday 1st February 2023. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 - 05:00 hours (maximum periods). The Order would come into force on 30th January 2023 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Please visit National Highways website for closure details. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using other junctions on the M25 (18 (A404),19 (A41) and 21a (A405)) as appropriate and by using the A41, A414, and the M1.
The temporary closures, speed restrictions and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
