NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Croydon on the 09 January 2023 made the above-mentioned experimental Orders under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act, 1985.
. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to prohibit any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council.

(b) The effect of the Orders will also be to remove a 5-metre length of permit/payment parking bay outside No. 27 Birchanger Road and replace it with double yellow lines.
(c) In addition, the Orders will also amend the map-based tiles to the Schedules attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the traffic arrangements as they exist on site.
(d) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 23 January 2023, and of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing the schemes and of the plans which indicate the lengths of road to which the schemes relate, can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the last day of a period beginning with the date of this notice and ending 18 months from the date the Orders became operational, by appointment with the Parking Design Team
at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1EA. For further information or an appointment please telephone the Sustainable Communities, Regeneration and Economic Recovery Directorate, Croydon Council on 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design. Alternatively, copies of documents can be requested by email to parking.design@croydon.gov.uk.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
5. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of Orders made under section 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to The Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers. Any person may object to the making
of the Orders for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of six months beginning with the day on which the experimental Orders come into force (i.e. from 23 January 2023 until 23 July 2023) or, if an Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force. Any such objection must be in writing, quoting the relevant reference number for the location concerned (shown in the table in paragraph 2a of this notice) and stating the grounds on which it is made. Objections should either be sent to the relevant location-specific email address shown in the table in paragraph 2a of this notice, made on-line via our website: www.getinvolved.croydon.gov.uk, or sent by post to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Croydon Council, 6th Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk Croydon CRO 1 EA.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
1. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

2. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Wetherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1 EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). 3. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
BENSHAM LANE, THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PARKING & PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to install a new service on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian traffic and parking in Bensham Lane, Thornton Heath.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time in Bensham Lane between its junctions with Brigstock Road and Haslemere Road.
b) The north-eastern footway of Bensham Lane will be closed outside Nos. 364 and 366 Bensham Lane.
3. Whilst the footway closure is in place the alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via a walkway in the carriageway.
4. The Order will come into operation on 31 January 2023, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 February 2023. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
