The County Of Cumbria (U43i8 Church Street, Whitehaven) (Temporary Prohibition Of All Traffic) Order 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Electricity North
West to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County
Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to
prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from
proceeding along that section of the U4318 Church Street,
Whitehaven, from its junction with Roper Street, extending in a
north easterly direction for approx. 20m.
A suitable alternative route for northeast bound traffic onto
Lowther Street, will be signed and available via the U4328 Roper
Street and U43 15 Chapel Street
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
2. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and
3. Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 17 January 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 week, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
