Swindon Borough Council Section 14 - The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Notice Of Traffic Orders For Temporary Road And Section 14 - The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Notice Of Traffic Orders For Temporary Road And Footpath Closures/ Restrictions

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following temporary orders:
(STR000476 Marlborough Road and Queens Drive, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for highway improvement works and will impose restrictions on traffic, pedestrians and cyclist with overnight road closures, speed restrictions, weight restriction, footway and cycle lane closures on A4259 Marlborough Road between Coate and Commonhead Roundabouts, and Queens Drive adjacent and including Coate Roundabout. Traffic to be diverted as follow:

Queens Drive closure - Queens Drive, Marlborough Road, A419, Oxford Road, Drakes Way, Queens Drive and vice versa Marlborough Road closure - Marlborough Road, A419, Oxford Road, Drakes Way, Queens Drive and vice versa. The Order will come into force on the 20 February 2023 for 18 months but it anticipated the restrictions will only be required for up to 8 months and the overnight road closures will only be in place as/when required. (STR000484, Pack Hill, Wanborough) This Order is being introduced for resurfacing works on behalf of the Council and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Pack Hill between Commonhead Roundabout to 300 metres east of The Marsh. Alternative Route - via Church Road to Wanborough Road, Foxhill Crossroads, un-named road to B4192 Purley Road and vice versa.

The Order comes into the force on the 6 February 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated that the works will take place between the 6 and 17 February 2023. (STR000510 High Street, Blunsdon) This Order is being introduced for Thames Water works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on High Street, Blunsdon, between Fortuna Road and The Ridge.
Alternative Route - via Ermin Street, B4019, Sam's Lane and vice versa.

The Order comes into the force on the 27 February 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated that the works will take place between the 27 February and 3 March 2023. (STR000517 Footpath 2 Central Swindon South) This Order is being introduced to allow drainage and resurfacing works to the footpath and will temporarily close PROW footpath 2 Central Swindon South between Homington Avenue and PROW footpath 1 Central Swindon South. Alternative Route
From the northern end of the closure will be north-eastwards to Day House Lane then south-eastwards along Day House Lane to the A419 overbridge. Then turn southwards along the tarmac path to junction 15 of the M4 and then westwards along Public Footpath 1 to the southern end of the closure. The alternative route from the southern end of the closure is the reverse of the above route.

The Order comes into the force on the 23 January 2023 for 6 months.
