The effect of the orders - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the parish council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Faringdon, replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limit within the residential area, leading out of the town to the following points:

8. Stanford Road - a point 47 metres southeast of Nursery View.

* The existing 50mph speed limit on the A4095 Radcot Road will be extended slightly by 40 metres, so that the proposed 20mph speed starts closer to the residential area, with Officers having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account. Existing 30mph speed limits will also remain as 'buffer limits' on Coxwell Road, A417 Lechlade Road, and A417 Park Road.
