A34 Trunk Road (Milton To Marcham) Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order would be to impose:-

1. a 50mph speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the A34 between a point 386 metres north of the centreline of Kiln Lane, Drayton and a point 333 metres north of the entry slip road at Marcham Interchange (A415), and all slip roads leading to a from this length of carriageway;

2. a weight restriction of 7.5 tonnes in lane 2 of the length of carriageway described in 1. above; and

3. a width restriction of 2.9 metres in lane 1 and 2.0 metres in lane 2 of the length of carriageway described in 1. above.

Please note that these works would also include overnight closures which are covered by a separate order. Please see our website for more details.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier works and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 months starting on or after
Monday 30th January 2023.

The Order would come into force on 28th January 2023 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. The temporary speed, weight and width restrictions would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
