Water Lane, Prohibition of Any Class of Vehicle

14(1)
1. The Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston hereby gives notice that in order to enable the delivery and storage of building equipment and because these works are being executed on or near the carriageway it has made an Order, the effect of which is summarised in paragraph 3 below.
2. The Order will come into effect on Monday 02 January 2023 with works expected to take 14 months to complete. However, the Order will remain in force for 16 months should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily:
? Prohibit any class of vehicle, including pedal cycles from entering or exiting Water Lane between its junctions with (A308) Wood Street and Steadfast Road.
? Close one lane of the carriageway at the junction between Steadfast Road and Vicarage Road (09:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday only).
? Close the left hand lane of Horse Fair in a Northbound direction between John Lewis and the northern junction between Horse Fair and Vicarage Road (09:00 -16:00 Monday - Friday only).
? Close one lane of (A308) Wood Street between its junction with Vicarage Road and its junction with Water Lane (09:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday only).
4. An alternative route for pedestrians when the prohibition is in place will be via Steadfast Lane, Vicarage Road, Wood Street and vice versa.
5. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
