Various Streets, Ryde, Multiple Waiting and Loading Restrictions Notice

ORDER NO 1 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended ('the Act' of 1984), and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 propose to make an order the effect of which will be to:
a. To introduce 'No Waiting at Any Time' parking restriction in the following lengths of road:
Esplanade, Ryde on the south-west side, from a point 8 metres north-west to a point 19.5 metres north-west of its junction with George Street.
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 95 metres north-west to a point 110 metres north-west of its junctions with Quay Road.
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 13.5 metres north-west to a point 27.5 metres north-west of its junction with Quay Road
Esplanade, Ryde (Bus Only Route), on both sides, from its junction with Esplanade at the western junction and its junction with Esplanade at the eastern junction.
Ryde Pier, Ryde (Pier Access Road) - North-East bound, on both sides for the entrance lane, for its entire length.
Ryde Pier, Ryde (Pier Access Road) - South-West bound, on the north side for its entire length.
Ryde Pier, Ryde (Pier Access Road) - South-West bound on the south side, from its junction with Esplanade to a point 12.5 metres northeast thereof.
Ryde Pier, Ryde (Pier Access Road) - south-west bound, on the south and east side, from the commencement of the pier to a point 45 metres north-east of the junction with the Esplanade.
b. To introduce 'Limited Waiting 20 minutes no return within 1 Hour' parking restriction in the following length of road: Ryde Pier, Ryde (Pier Access Road) - south-west bound, on the southeast side, from a point 12.5 metres to a point 29.5 metres northeast from its junction with Esplanade.
c. To introduce 'Limited Waiting Buses Only 30 Minutes No Return Within 30 Minutes' parking restriction in the following lengths of road:
Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 78.5 metres northwest to a point 95 metres north-west of its junction with Quay Road.
d. To introduce a 'No Loading at any time' in the following lengths of road:
George Street, Ryde on both sides from its junction with Esplanade for a distance of 12 metres southwest thereof Esplanade, Ryde on the southwest side from its junction with George Street to a point 21 metres northwest thereof.
e. To revoke 'Limited Waiting 1 Hour No Return Within 1 Hour Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 Nov-31 March' parking restriction in the following lengths of road:
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 13.5 metres north-west to a point 87 metres north-west of its junction with Quay Road.
f. To revoke 'Limited Waiting Coaches Only 30 Mins No Return Within 30 Mins' parking restriction in the following length of road:
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 78.5 metres north-west to a point 95 metres north-west of its junction with Quay Road.
g. To revoke 'No Waiting at Any Time' parking restriction in the following lengths of road:
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from a point 87 metres north-west to a point 95 metres north-west of its junction with Quay Road.
Esplanade, Ryde on the south-west side, from a point 13.5 metres south-east to a point 70.5 metres south-east of its junction with George Street.
Esplanade, Ryde on the south-west side, from a point 55 metres north-west to a point 73 metres north-west of its junction with George Street.
Esplanade, Ryde on the north-east side, from its junction with George Street to a point 56.5 metres north-west thereof.
The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
