Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section S14(1) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and Schedule 1 of The Traffic Orders Procedures Regulations 1996.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 5, Canvey Island, in the Borough of Castle Point from a point approximately 166 metres northwest of the Bay Cafe at Western Esplanade, eastwards to a point approximately 100 metres north of the easternmost point of Footpath 5 on Marine Parade, a distance of approximately 3,200 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 03 January 2023 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required to allow for works to be carried out on the southern shoreline, mainly Revetment replacement. An extension to the Order will be requested from the Secretary of State to cover the remainder of the programme.

From a point approximately in line with the junction of Eastern Esplanade and Maurice Road, east, then north for a distance of approximately 1,700 metres.

From a point approximately 166 metres northwest of the 2024 Bay Café at Western Esplanade, south, then
east for a distance of approximately

Alternative pedestrian routes will be signed as each phase progresses. The Order will come into effect on 03 January 2023 and may continue in force for 6 months, an extension to the Order will be requested from the Secretary of State to cover the remainder of the programme.
