TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 29* day of December 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2) & (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) & (9).

(1) HULL ROAD (A1079). KEXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Hull Road (A1079), Kexby between its junction with Dauby Lane and a location 1.02 kilometres east of said junction (restricted road) during the period when electricity grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Tuesday, 03 January 2023 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 03 March 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(2) DAUBY LANE. ELVINGTON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of southbound carriageway on Dauby Lane, Elvington between its junction with Hull Road (A1079) and a location 137 metres south of said junction (closed road) during the period when new electrical connection works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Tuesday, 03 January 2023 and ending at 2359hrs on Monday, 16 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) LINK ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Link Road, York between its junctions with Haxby Road and Dormary Close (closed road) during the period when telecoms maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Wednesday, 04 January 2023 and ending at 1530hrs on Wednesday, 04 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) BURTON STONE LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burton Stone Lane, York between its junction with Clifton (A19) and a location 65 metres north-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 09 January 2023 and ending at 1500hrs on Friday, 20 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) KILBURN ROAD. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Kilburn Road, York between the projected eastern boundaries of property No's 28 and 40 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 09 January 2023 and ending at 1430hrs on Monday, 09 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(6) THOMPSON DRIVE. STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Thompson Drive, Strensall between its junctions with Steadings Yard and Heath Ride (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 09 January 2023 and ending at 1600hrs on Tuesday, 10 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) MARYGATE. HETHERTON STREET. FREDERICK STREET-ESPLANADE COURT & MARYGATE LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road on Marygate, Hetherton Street, Frederic Street, Esplanade Court & Marygate Lane, York (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 09 January 2023 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 10 February 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 0930hrs and 1600hrs each day with additional evening works to be carried out on Marygate between 1900hrs and 2359hrs on the nights of the 9 February 2023 & 10 February 2023.
(8) DON AVENUE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Don Avenue, York between its junction with Eason View and the projected northern boundary of property No. 26 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 11 January 2023 and ending at 1600hrs on Wednesday, 11 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(9) LADY ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Lady Road, York between its junction with Cromer Street and a location 75 metres south-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Thursday, 12 January 2023 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 13 January 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
