Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Oxford, Botley Road (between Becket Street and Mill Street) Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 3 January 2023 Coming into force: 9 January 2023 This Order is being introduced because of Oxford Station rail bridge replacement and associated highway alterations, followed by works for enhanced foot and cycle route provisions which are anticipated to be completed 15 December 2023. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic proceeding in the whole length of Botley Road. The closure point is between Becket Street and Mill Street. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Pedestrians (including cycles being pushed) will not be restricted. The alternative route for traffic is via the A34/Abingdon Road/ Thames St/Oxpens Rd/Hollybush Row and A34/Woodstock Rd/St Giles/Beaumont St/Worcester. Oxford, Becket Street (jct Botley Road) Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 3 January 2023 Coming into force: 9 January 2023 This Order relates to the Botley Rail Bridge reconstruction and is anticipated to be completed 12 May 2023. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Becket Street for 35 meters from Botley Road junction. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Frideswide Square, Hollybush Row & Osney Lane. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
