The County Of Cumbria (Footpath No. 111005 In The Parish Of Cummersdale And Footpath No. 114053 In The Parish Of Dalston) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council on 21 June 2022, which became operative on 1 July 2022, to enable works to be carried out for the diversion of Northern Gas Networks High Pressure Gas main to enable the future construction of the new Carlisle Southern Link Road ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 1 January 2023 : has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 1 July 2023. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following lengths of footpath:

1. An approx. 431 metre section of Public Footpath No. 111005 in the Parish of Cummersdale, between Grid References: 338733, 552810 and 338686 552395; and

2. An approx. 91 metre section of Public Footpath No. 114053 in the Parish of Dalston between Grid References: 338686 552395 and 338642 552317.

There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians. If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate Minister.
