Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order
Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Section 257 and Paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 Northumberland County Council
Hexham Town (Public Footpath No 52) Diversion Order 2019

The above Order was made on 25th November 2019 and was confirmed on 8th December 2022. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 52 (Hexham Town)
To extinguish the footpath, from a point on Gilesgate, 20 metres north of Hexham House (OS grid ref: NY 9344 6426), in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 30 metres, then in an easterly direction for a distance of 26 metres, then in a general north-easterly direction for a distance of 22 metres, to a point on Haugh Lane, 27 metres east of Stephenson House (NY 9349 6429).
To create a 2 metre wide footpath, from a point on Gilesgate, 24 metres north of Hexham House (OS grid ref: NY 9344 6426), in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 28 metres, thereafter as a flight of steps descending, in a general north-easterly direction for a further 25 metres to a point on Haugh Lane, 7 metres east of Stephenson House (NY 9347 6430).

This Order comes into force on the date on which Northumberland County Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with, but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may, apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 six weeks from 15th December 2022 as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
