Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Benson, Lockside Weir Walkway Work commenced: 25 November 2022

Date of Order: 12 December 2022 Coming into force: 15 December 2022 This Order continues in force an Emergency closure, on 25 November 2022, of the Footpath (weir walkway) required on safety grounds due to recent damage to the structure from river debris and the heightened potential for further impact damage during winter flow conditions. The anticipated duration of this closure is 6 months. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the Lockside Weir Walkway. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. The only option for diversion to cross river would be via Wallingford or Shillingford bridge. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T11301/MR)
