The County Council of Durham (C31 Crakehill Bank leading to Saunders
Avenue, Hamsterley) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 675 metres of road C31 Crakehill Bank that extends westward from its junction with A68 Witton le Wear toward Saunders Avenue, Hamsterley to enable essential groundwork investigation works to be undertaken following slippage. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure from A68 southerly to the junction with road C33 Diddridge Lane and turning north onto C30 Daniel Lane toward Hamsterley and the junction with road C31 to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 9/1 /23 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
