Croydon Council Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Section 16a As Amended By The Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994 Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order Playstreet Closures - Woodside Road. Purley
1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to close Woodside Road, Purley, to vehicular traffic at the times and on the dates specified in the Schedule to this notice, to facilitate a playstreet.
2. During the dates and times specified in the Schedule to this notice no person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed in Woodside Road.
3. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for residents, or pedestrians accessing any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.
4. Nothing in the Order shall apply:
a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade, or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
5. Whilst the closure is in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Smitham Downs Road, Smitham Bottom Lane, Woodcote Valley Road, Manor Wood Road and reversed.
6. The Order will come into effect on 18 December 2022 and will be reintroduced at the times and on the dates specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
