The County Council of Durham (Footpath Number 25 between Pelton Fell Road and Hilda Park, Chester-le-Street) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on 60 metres of Public Footpath Number 25 that extends north westerly from Pelton Fell Road to Hilda Park, Chester-le-Street to enable electricity cable jointing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the south eastern side of the closure from Pelton Fell Road easterly onto Public Footpath Number 33 that leads easterly toward the viaduct but then turning north on the path leading to Glenmore Avenue then westerly on South Street and south westerly on Glencoe Avenue then south westerly on Glenavon Avenue to Hilda Park to the north western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 9/1 /23 and are anticipated to be completed in 14 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
