The County Of Cumbria (Footpath Nos. 536209 And 536210 In The Parish Of Kendal) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council on 26 July 2022, which became operative on 1 August 2022, to enable Volkerstevin to carry out footpath alteration works as part of the Kendal flood reduction management scheme ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 1 February 2023
: has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 April 2023.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following lengths of footpath:
1. An approx 250 metre section of Public Footpath No. 536210, Glebe Walk in the Parish of Kendal, between Grid References: 351651 491959 and 351729 492111; and
2. The entire length of Public Footpath No. 536209 in the Parish of Kendal, between its junctions with Kirkland and Public Footpath No. 536210.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians is available via the unrestricted section of Public Footpath No. 536210, Public Footpath No. 536211 and the footways alongside Kirkland. If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate Minister.
