London, Multiple Traffic Notices, Prohibition of Vehicles

Transport for London Public Notice:

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable crane operation works to take place at A10 Norton Folgate.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1) entering, exiting or proceeding on the southbound carriageway of Norton Folgate between its junctions with Folgate Street and Spital Square. Local access will be maintained on Folgate Street and also on A10 Shoreditch High Street/Norton Folgate between its junctions with Commercial Street and Folgate Street.

The Order also:
(2) suspends the bus lane on the northbound carriageway of Norton Folgate/A10 Shoreditch High Street between its junctions with Spital Square and Worship Street;

(3) prohibits any pedestrian from entering or proceeding on the eastern footway of Norton Folgate between its junctions with Folgate Street and Spital Square.

The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01 AM on 8th December 2022 and 11:59 PM on 11th December 2022, each Saturday morning at 6:00 AM until Sunday at 10:00 PM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via Commercial Street, (and Brushfield Street for cyclists only to normal route of travel) Leman Street, Prescot Street, Mansell Street, Middlesex Street, St Botolph Street, Duke Place, Bevis Marks, Camomile Street and A10 Bishopsgate to normal route of travel.
