Whitehaven, Temporary Traffic Notice

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS, WHITEHAVEN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are stated in the attached schedule.
The Order will come into operation on 4 January 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 1. C4032 Bransty Road, Whitehaven - Duration: From 4 January 2023 for approx. 3 weeks (Ref: TTRO/1947)
From its junction with U4440 known locally as Wagon Road, extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Countess Road, Whitehaven.
Alternative Route: Via the unrestricted sections of Bransty Road, A595 and New Road.
2. U4337 High Road, Whitehaven - Duration: From 9 January 2023 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTRO/2269)
From a point adjacent to No.52 High Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 50m.
Alternative Route: Via the unrestricted sections of High Road, Ennerdale Terrace, Ginns to Kells Road, Ginns, Preston Street, New Town, Albion Street, Rosemary Lane and Harbour View.
3. U4322 Schoolhouse Lane, Whitehaven - Duration: From 6 February 2023 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTRO/1945)
From its junction with its junction with Queen Street, to its junction with Scotch Street.
Alternative Route: Via Queen Street and the A5094 Lowther Street, A5094 Strand Street, Duke Street and Scotch Street.
4. U4305 Michael Street, Whitehaven - Duration: From 8 February 2023 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTRO/1907)
From its junction with George Street, extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with Duke Street. Alternative Route: Via Duke Street, Scotch Street and George Street.
5. U4302 Peter Street, Whitehaven - Duration: From 13 February 2023 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTRO/1902)
From its junction with Scotch Street, extending in a south
easterly direction for approx. 50m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles.
6. U4319 Queen Street, Whitehaven - Duration: From 20 February 2023 for approx. 5 weeks (Ref: TTRO/1910) From its junction with Duke Street, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 180m.
Alternative Route: Via Duke Street, Scotch Street, High Street, Wellington Row, George Street and Church Street.
