SEDGEMOOR DISTRICT COUNCIL NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14 (FOOTPATH AX32/21 (IN PART) IN THE PARISH OF BURNHAM-ON-SEA AND HIGHBRIDGE)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2022
On the 17th November 2022, the Sedgemoor District Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the order, as confirmed, is to divert the public footpath, running from part of footpath ref. AX 32/21 in the parish of Burnham on Sea and Highbridge from point A (Nat Grid Map Ref. 332436 147569) at Lakeside, Highbridge, TA9 3AH in a generally westerly direction to point B (Nat Grid Map Ref. 332258 147571), at the railway crossing, a distance of approximately 180 metres and create an alternative footpath to a line running from the aforementioned point A (Nat Grid Map Ref. 332436, 147569) on footpath AX 32/21 at Lakeside, Highbridge, TA9 3AH running in a northerly direction to point C (Nat Grid Map Ref. 332438, 147600), a distance of approximately 32 metres. Then from point C in an easterly direction to point D (Nat Grid Map Ref. 332446, 147600), a distance of approximately 8 metres. Then from point D in a northerly direction to point E (Nat Grid Ref. 332447, 147607), a distance of approximately 6.6 metres. Then from point E in a westerly direction and then a northerly direction to point F (Nat Grid Ref. 332415, 147616), a distance of approximately 40 metres. Then from point F in a westerly direction to point G (Nat Grid Ref. 332410, 147617), a distance of approximately 5 metres. Then from point G in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 60 metres to point H (GR 332411, 147676). Then from point H in a west south westerly direction for a distance of approximately 35 metres to point J (GR 332379, 147669). Then from point J, and running in a generally northerly direction for a distance of approximately 52 metres to point K (GR 332386,147714). The width of the footpath from point A to point K is 2 metres. The route continues from point K and running in a generally northerly direction to follow the alignment of the existing roadside footpath on the western side, to join the A38 Bristol Road public highway at point L (Nat Grid Ref 332391, 147827), a distance of approximately 152 metres. The width of the footpath between point K and point L will be 1.5 metres. Copy of the confirmed order and the order map, have been placed and may be seen, free of charge, at Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater from 9.00am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. A copy of the order and map is available for viewing on request from the Clerk, Burnham on Sea and Highbridge Town Council.
This order comes into force on the date on which Sedgemoor District Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been compiled with, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
