TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 24th day of November 2022 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council made an Order on the 1" day of December 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (2) & (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6) & (7).
(1) MALTON AVENUE (CONTINUATION). YORK
This Order continues in force The York (Malton Avenue) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2022 (original Order). The effect of which is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Malton Avenue, York between its junction with Heworth Green and a location 30 metres north-west of said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on Saturday, 26 November 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on the Friday, 02 December 2022 (works period) or on a date when gas mains works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2305hrs on Saturday, 03 December 2022 and ending at 0825hrs on Sunday, 04 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2305hrs on Monday, 05 December 2022 and ending at 0625hrs on Tuesday, 06 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) JACKSON STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Jackson Street, York between its junction with Bowling Green Lane and a location 94 metres north-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when electricity supply connection works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 12 December 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 13 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2335hrs on Tuesday, 13 December 2022 and ending at 0555hrs on Wednesday, 14 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) ASKHAM LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Askham Lane, York between its junctions with Grange Lane and Ridgeway (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Tuesday, 13 December 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 14 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1900hrs and 2359hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) AVENUE TERRACE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Avenue Terrace, York between its junction with Avenue Road and a location 32 metres south-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 13 December 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 14 December 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
