M1 J8-11A, Temporary Traffic Restrictions

THE M1 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 8 TO JUNCTION 11A)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 202
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the M1 Motorway in the Counties of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 3 January 2023 and be completed by 23 December 2023. The effect of the Order would be to:
(a) authorise the overnight closure (20.00-08.00) of the M1 between Junction 8 and Junction 11a;
(b) authorise the closure of:
(i) all slip roads leading to and from the above length of the M1;
(ii) the emergency refuge areas on the above lengths of the M1;

During the closures traffic would be diverted via junctions of the M1 and local roads. The duration of each closure would vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion. . The closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order would come into force on 3 January 2023 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
